2019 was a busy year for WaterDM and Principal, Peter Mayer, P.E.. Here is are some of the highlights....WEW award

  • WaterDM completed a major demand management project for NYC Water Board. Prepared 10 water demand management plans and a summary report.
  • Completed a report on the functional assignment of demand management costs and presented twice to the Metropolitan Water District of S. Cal Board of Directors.
  • Completed the AWE Landscape Transformation Study – a multi-city study of the impacts of programs that change landscapes such as turf removal. Peter Mayer developed the research questions and concept, helped select the research team, and served as the project manager.
  • Worked with Tucson Water to prepare a 10-year water conservation plan and assist with the One Water 100-year integrated water resources plan.
  • Peter Mayer completed 12-years as editor of the Water Efficiency Watch Newsletter for the Alliance for Water Efficiency and received recognition at the Water Smart Innovations conference as he stepped down from that role.
  • Worked with the California Department of Water Resources to evaluate residential per capita water use.
  • Worked with ELEMENT Water Consulting to prepare an integrated water resources plan for the City of Northglenn.
  • WaterDM and partners the University of Cincinnati and Metering Technical Consultants completed a multi-year study for the Water Research Foundation titled - Assessing Water Demand Patterns to Improve Sizing of Water Meters and Service Lines. https://www.waterrf.org/research/projects/assessing-water-demand-patterns-improve-sizing-water-meters-and-service-lines

  • Peter Mayer presented Water Demand Trends, Efficiency and the Future of American Water Use the Keynote Address at the University Council on Water Resources (UCOWR) Annual Conference. Snowbird, UT.
